Alexandre Jotterand specializes in the management of data and technology.
He assists companies, innovative startups, and healthcare & life science providers navigate the complexity of these fields, both from a legal, regulatory and management perspectives. His fields of expertise include IT, advanced & frontier technologies, privacy/data protection laws (Swiss law and GDPR), cybersecurity, life science, as well as intellectual property & open source. He is also experienced in the fields of commercial transactions and corporate matters.
Alexandre studied at the Universities of Geneva, Zurich and Basel. He holds a bilingual (French and German) Master’s degree in Law (MLaw; summa cum laude). He further holds both the CIPP/E and CIPM certifications, which are the leading certifications for GDPR compliance and the management of privacy programs. He also completed several training programs provided by the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), including in patent law, trademark law and software licensing (in particular open source).
Alexandre works in French and English. He is admitted to practice in front of all Swiss courts.
Alexandre is a board member of the Swiss Data Protection Officer Association (ASDPO). He is also a member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES-CH) and of the Geneva Association of Business Law (AGDA).
